An exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Manager to lead and manage the Civils Commercial function within the growing business. This role is perfect for a dynamic professional who is ready to take charge, drive direction, and implement forward-thinking strategies to support and enhance our Rail Civils projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Management: Lead the preparation, management, and negotiation of client contracts at both pre- and post-contract stages, ensuring robust support for Rail Civils projects. This includes preparing commercial responses to PQQs, tenders, and other key documents.
  • Financial Oversight: Oversee the financial and resource management of multiple minor works contracts, ensuring strict adherence to commercial and financial governance.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain proactive communication with key stakeholders through effective reporting, the production of Commercial Management Plans, and leading client meetings.
  • Operational Involvement: In the establishment phase, contribute to operational activities as you design and grow the commercial function.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educational Background: A degree in Commercial Management / Quantity Surveying (or similar) or equivalent experience.
  • Industry Experience: Significant experience at the Commercial Manager level, particularly within the Rail/Construction sector, with excellent industry knowledge.
  • Legislative Knowledge: Strong understanding of relevant legislation impacting the Rail/Construction industry.
  • Professional Memberships: Membership of RICS, CICES, or CIOB is desirable but not essential.
