Junior Investment Manager

Robert Half is partnering with a prestigious York based wealth management firm to recruit a Junior Investment Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates with a 2:1 degree who are keen to start their career in finance. We are looking for candidates with degrees in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or STEM disciplines. This role would also give you the opportunity to travel to the London head office. Responsibilities:

  • Handle the process of opening new client accounts, ensuring all required documentation is completed accurately.
  • Prepare and process transactions within the firm's systems, adhering to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Draft and prepare client reports and correspondence, including valuations, dealing letters, and responses to client queries.
  • Resolve administrative queries from clients and work closely with the Investment Administration team to address any issues.
  • Verify contract details against dealing data to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare payment, transfer, and other investment administration forms for sign-off by the Investment Manager.
  • Provide factual information on market indices, share prices, and other relevant data upon request.
  • Assist in developing client relationships by arranging, attending, and supporting meetings, including preparing necessary documentation.
  • Monitor existing and potential investments, providing regular updates to the Investment Manager.
  • Support investment analysis by reviewing research materials and attending meetings with company representatives and fund managers.
  • Assist in portfolio construction and ongoing monitoring of client portfolios.
  • Participate in the firm's investment process by contributing to morning meetings, monthly stock selection, asset allocation meetings, and collective research.

Qualifications:

  • Must be committed to undertaking the CISI Level 4 Investment Advice Diploma, with the expectation of completion within 18 months.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with strong data management and reporting skills.
  • A 2:1 degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a STEM-related field.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Highly organised, with excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
