We are seeking a dedicated Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) to join on a permanent basis. The LADO will play a crucial role in safeguarding children by managing and overseeing allegations against adults who work with children. This position requires a strong understanding of child protection procedures and the ability to work collaboratively with various agencies.
Your new role
- Manage and oversee allegations against adults working with children.
- Provide advice and guidance to employers and voluntary organisations.
- Ensure that all allegations are handled in accordance with statutory guidance and local procedures.
- Liaise with police, social care, and other relevant agencies.
- Maintain accurate records and produce reports as required.
- Deliver training and support to staff and partner agencies.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in child protection and safeguarding.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage complex cases.
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., social work, education, or similar).
