We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced risk and compliance professional to join and further strengthen our team.

In this role you'll leverage your experience to support Brown & Brown, one of the largest insurance intermediaries in the UK and Ireland, with our continued growth across our Retail, Lloyd's and London Market Brokers, Underwriting and Network divisions.

You'll be working in an ever evolving role, full of variety and challenge, with teammates in our central Risk & Compliance Team, the Head of Regulatory Change & Projects and other senior key stakeholders.

You'll help to ensure our compliance frameworks remain fit for purpose and align with current regulation and legislation, embed a compliance culture across our businesses and support our M&A team, with our continued growth, through effective risk and compliance due diligence and onboarding activity.

The day to day:

  • Consult with and build strong working relationships with relevant Brown & Brown teammates.
  • Maintain awareness of proposed and confirmed changes to regulatory requirements, supporting identification of those changes that will require implementation of change within any, or all businesses in Brown & Brown Europe Limited.
  • Support and assist in the delivery of key regulatory change projects, including input into, and delivery of effective communications and training for teammates on how to comply, to ensure continued compliance.
  • Support the Head of Regulatory Change & Projects in required activities in relation to Group Policies and Minimum Standards, and where required provide input and support delivery of key components of work, such as procedures, toolkits etc, to enable the business to comply with the Minimum Standards.
  • Work with the Head of Regulatory Change and Projects and provide input into the delivery of key projects emerging from the above, and contained within the annual risk and compliance plan, working with teammates both within the Risk and Compliance team and across Brown & Brown Europe Limited
  • Operate as a subject matter expert to provide regulatory support for operational projects and initiatives.
  • Support the Brown & Brown (Europe) Limited M&A function, to deliver their acquisition plan, through effective and robust Risk & Compliance due diligence activity. Producing relevant, timely and accurate reporting, outlining, and escalating key regulatory risks to the group and proposing solutions or mitigation to address material regulatory risks.
  • Working with Risk and Compliance teammates, direct, control and provide guidance and support to ensure effective delivery of the initial stages of onboarding and integration of regulated entities and businesses and assets, acquired by Brown and Brown (Europe) Limited, to ensure effective transition to the relevant Heads of Risk & Compliance and their teams.
  • Support the Head of Regulatory Change & Projects to ensure that Mandatory training, relating to regulatory topics, remains current and fit for purpose, reviewing and re drafting relevant material where required.
  • Draft reports for Boards, committees and senior stakeholders on regulatory change and projects.

About you:

You'll be an experienced risk and compliance professional with strong knowledge of regulation, legislation, and industry standards, with some experience in the insurance sector and ideally a sound understanding of insurance broking, with a high degree of business acumen.

A highly organised, proactive learner, whose skill set also includes, problem solving, strong communication (written, verbal, video), critical thinking and stakeholder management,

You will need to be able to quickly interpret and understand how regulatory changes may impact across different distribution models and successfully support delivery of, or deploy suitable timely solutions across our divisions.

A full driving licence is beneficial as there will be some travel nationally with this role.
