ROLE – Manufacturing Support Engineer

LOCATION – Bedfordshire

TERM – Permanent

SALARY - £30,000 - £36,000 per annum dependant on experience

I'm working with a great client of mine who specialize in manufacturing audio products. They are on the lookout for a Manufacturing Support Engineer.

The Manufacturing Support Engineer will ideally have the following:

  • Interest or experience in audio, electronics, or related technology.
  • Willingness to develop advanced inspection and listening skills, with a focus on product quality.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meticulously follow established procedures.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and testing principles; experience with testing equipment or analyzers is beneficial.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with measurement tools such as calipers, gauges, or other inspection devices.
  • Competency in Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and experience with MRP systems (preferably SAP).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2005 or other Quality Management Systems.

The Manufacturing Support Engineer role will involve:

  • Assist with quality control processes for incoming and outgoing materials and products by verifying conformance to specifications through visual and measurement tests, and manage the rejection or return of non-compliant materials.
  • Develop expertise in CAD, Electronics, and Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on product design, manufacturing processes, and related principles.
  • Enhance inspection capabilities through detailed, customer-focused product audits and final sign-off for finished goods.
  • Accurately document inspection results, including rework and waste summaries, and enter data into the quality management system.
  • Ensure correct execution of testing procedures for products during the production phase.
  • Maintain and calibrate testing and measurement equipment, ensuring accurate operation and proper documentation.
  • Regularly review and update quality control procedures and return policies, making improvements as needed.
  • Assist in resolving quality issues related to production and suppliers, working closely with the Quality Manager.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in quality processes and contribute to raising quality standards.
