Our valued client is a renowned accountancy practice that holds a strong presence and an excellent reputation in the Southwest region. Our client is seeking a motivated Trainee Accounting Technician to join their team.

This opportunity provides comprehensive practical and theoretical training for the AAT qualification. The training will encompass Level 3 and Level 4 AAT apprenticeship qualifications; you will learn the fundamentals of bookkeeping, accounting standards, and personal and business tax matters.

Throughout the training, you will receive support, paid study leave, and regular pay reviews. As a Trainee Accounting Technician, you will gain valuable work experience supporting the team in providing accounting and taxation services to clients, whilst receiving unwavering support.

The responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the team in offering a wide array of accounting services to clients.
  • Engage in the preparation of financial information, reports, and returns for a diverse clientele, encompassing both businesses and individuals.
  • Utilise computer software to efficiently record financial transactions.
  • Assist with handling the preparation of personal and company tax computations, regular VAT returns, and bookkeeping services.
  • Assist in gathering essential information to analyse and report on income and expenditure, contributing to decision making, planning, and control processes.

The candidate:

  • Professional, adaptable, and numerically adept with a team-centric attitude.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel and adept at learning new software quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills via all means available.
  • Solid track record of achieving qualifications, with strong results in GCSEs, A-levels (or equivalent) preferred. Other academic histories will also be considered.
