Job Title: Repro Operator (packaging)

Location: Stockport (hybrid available for the right candidate)

Salary: Dependent On Experience

Hours: 40 hours a week

About my Client:

A pre-press service provider for print & packaging**.** Now looking for a new addition to their team they're searching for a Repro Operator, experienced in repro including litho, flexo & gravure.

Purpose of a Repro Operator:

Contribute to the performance of the Packaging Studio through the consistent delivery of high quality, accurate artwork / repro files and colour-corrected images for print-based projects.

Key skills, knowledge & experience for a Repro Operator:

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Good attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Flexo origination, ability to Colour Retouch and Colour Manage within Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Stepping of Files via Plato/Artpro+.
  • Sound knowledge of the various printing processes (primarily Litho, Flexo & Gravure) and their requirements relating to prepress
  • Efficiently build error-free packaging artwork, following both departmental and client guidelines, within the client's agreed SLAs
  • Experience of Flexo Repro and re-touching will be advantageous
  • Good understanding of colour and colour theory.
  • Be able to accurately colour match across the various printing processes.
  • Ability to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Be adaptable and flexible.
  • Be enthusiastic, use initiative and work as part of a team.

Requirements for a Repro Operator:

  • 3 years+ experience working within the packaging industry in the same or similar position.
  • Be flexible, in line with the demands placed on the business.
  • Ensure On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery to clients in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Review files supplied and make correct decisions regarding the best separation technique for any given job.
  • Prepare files suitably for any given printer/print process. To ensure that all files are saved in accordance with company naming conventions and standards.
  • Ensure that images are free from problem tones - such as below min. dots and isolated rogue tones.
  • Carry out self-checks on all work produced.
  • Complete the appropriate checklist, signed and dated.
  • Accurately record all time entries for production work undertaken in the company timesheet system.
  • Be commercially aware at all times.
  • Producing quality repro to the highest standard using Adobe CC with Deskpack Plugins, Esko WebCenter, Esko Automation Engine, Plato and Artpro+
