We're currently supporting a well-regarded Manufacturing company, who employ 150 staff and generate a turnover in the region of £50million at their well-established site near Carlisle.
We're looking for an accountant/Finance Business Partner, who is a confident communicator and can be the go-to accountant who bridges the gap between accounts, operations and manufacturing.
This business pride themselves on producing a premium product to an established and loyal customer base and is ran like a family business with drive and autonomy, albeit, it is part of a large and successful Public limited company, which provides additional benefits.
Key responsibilities.
- Provide a weekly P&L forecast to the finance and operational team
- Prepare an accurate set of Management Accounts on a monthly basis
- Ensure all results and forecasts are accurately represented in the Group reporting systems
- Agree and reconcile intercompany balances each month
- Report on daily order intake and invoice levels
- Periodic Balance Sheet reconciliations to ensure robust balances to ensure a clean audit
- Provide insightful and value-added information to help drive business performance and exceed targets
- Preparation of the Annual Budget, liaising with relevant managers to ensure buy in
- Ensure robust stock values and provisions plus forecast to ensure slow moving stock is minimized.
- Co-ordinate the biannual stock take and ensure current stock is reflected on SAP
- Lead Capex & monthly spend reviews
- Review Capital Investment Appraisals and forecast capital expenditure spend
- Product Costings - Ensure products are costed accurately and updated in SAP
- Ensure financial compliance and governance, review procedures and make improvements
- Look at new ways to automate and simplify processes
- Audit - lead contact person for external audit - query resolution
- Support, develop and train budget holders with their financial understanding
- Building partnerships and maintaining strong relationships with senior managers and their teams as the go to person for financial matters
- Cover the Financial Controllers duties when they are absent from the business
What type of person would suit this role?
- CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent Part or fully Qualified or Qualified By Experience
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to work as part of a team, under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to plan ahead and prioritise key tasks
- Advanced excel skills, able to set up new reports
- Excellent oral, written and communication skills
- Understanding procedures in the finance department
- Experience of manufacturing desirable but not essential
- Experience of ERP systems desirable but not essential
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary range £45,000- £55,000
- Hybrid working
- Pension contribution 5%, ER's contribution 7.5%
