A specialist independent school in Somerset is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support students aged 10-18 with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), autism, and other additional learning needs.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers and therapists to provide tailored support to students in both classroom and 1:1 settings. You'll help create a positive, structured environment where students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support learning activities across a range of subjects
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN/SEMH
- Help manage behaviour positively and consistently
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students
- Assist with planning, resources, and classroom organisation

- Experience working with young people with SEN/SEMH (school or care settings)
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
