Overview

We are seeking a Finance Assistant to join one of our key clients, a FTSE listed construction business on a permanent basis.

This is a critical role within the recently established R2R function that involves collecting, processing, and presenting accurate financial data.

Job Description/Purpose

The role will have responsibility for the management of the debtors' ledger for the main group companies, oversight of all company debtors' ledgers, and debtor reporting. As part of the R2R team, the role will also include preparation of the reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and resolving related queries and issues.

The role includes exposure to project teams and other central finance functions, providing an excellent opportunity for a varied role with regular challenges. It provides the ability to work with a wide variety of teams from different functional backgrounds and the opportunity for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Central reporting of the debtor position and risks within the debtor balances for reporting to the Senior Finance Manager.
  • Managing debt collection processes, controls, and documentation.
  • Maintaining balance sheet reconciliations, resolving any queries arising to ensure balances are controlled and include only justifiable entries.
  • Taking on additional projects and tasks as required to support the team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Essential

  • 3+ years' experience in a finance role.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Working with Oracle Enterprise One, or similar ERP system is desirable.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Intermediate user of Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Confidence to challenge current processes and recommend improvements.
  • Demonstrable ability to form effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • A passion for excellent customer service.
  • Flexibility to take on new challenges as they arise and quick to learn.
  • Self-motivated and a self-starter, with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Set and achieve high standards for themselves and for others, taking personal accountability for results.
  • Identifies and navigates problems and obstacles to performance in an orderly and calm manner.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum 5 GCSEs graded 4-9 or an equivalent graded A-C
  • AAT or equivalent experience

Location: Maidenhead, Office-based 2-3 days per week.

Hours of Work: Full time, Monday to Friday
