Commercial Manager

Smurfit Kappa currently have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join our team at the Stalybridge Site.

The key responsibilities will include:

  • To ensure the site optimises its market and commercial position within the business.
  • To continuously improve business methods and provide excellent analysis that can be the basis for strategic decisions.
  • Identify key actions both within the business, existing and prospective customers to enhance long-term profitability.
  • Provide, manage and develop the business's commercial framework enabling local pricing via sales team, local site and national tenders, as well as MNA and PES tenders.
  • Manage and oversee internal processes for quotations, tenders, on a daily basis.
  • Ensure quality of quotations and agreed timescales are adhered to.
  • Manage and continually look to improve the pricing process.
  • Maintain a commercial tender and customer feedback process to continually improve the available data for future decisions.
  • Provide proactive, strong commercial support to site teams.
  • Make sure pricing strategy is aligned with business goals.
  • Use commercial tools to support business improvement and growth.
  • Continually use data to identify and pursue cost saving opportunities and OEE improvements.
  • Prepare and present tenders to Sales Director / management team for decision making.
  • Oversee site commercial and financial reporting.
  • Track margin and cost take out initiatives.
  • Achieve KPIs on margin enhancement and customer CTO commitments.

Key knowledge and experience:

  • The job holder will have a systematic approach and have: Financial Literacy; Leadership skills; Project Management skills; Ability to translate commercial data into action plans and deliver.
  • The job holder will also be: A confident and able communicator, with a strong attention to detail; Proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
