Opportunity
The role is a member of the organisations Senior Leadership Team and reports directly in to the CEO. You will provide sound financial management, exercise strong compassionate leadership and be responsible for supporting the organisations through a period of change as the organisation utilises tech to improve processes and increase efficiency
Role
- To be accountable for the accurate presentation of all financial data presented to all parties at all times.
- To be accountable for maximising the opportunity for profit ensuring that the full fundraising potential is reached and costs are controlled appropriately.
- To be accountable for the line management of the finance team and volunteers, as appropriate.
- To be responsible for overseeing all financial operations relating to the organisation including the presentation of monthly management accounts, end of year procedures, financial audit and preparation of the final accounts.
- To co-ordinate the input of auditors for the provision of statutory accounts.
- To provide financial input to Derian House Hospice Shops Trading Company preparing monthly accounts and end of year procedures.
- To prepare and review VAT returns for submission.
- To manage the hospice's financial systems ensuring all aspects comply with legal requirements, financial processes and controls, including overseeing payroll arrangements.
- To support the CEO in the development and maintenance of risk registers.
- To participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of the organisations Strategy, Business Plans and any other projects and developments, as appropriate
- To contribute to negotiations with statutory commissioners concerning contracts and Service Level Agreements.
Experience
- Proven ability of operating as a Finance Manager.
- Proven ability to lead/supervise, with the ability to motivate others.
- Well-developed team building skills.
