Residential Support Worker

Empowering Learning are recruiting for multiple Support Workers to work in a residential setting in Burton on Trent. The residential setting supports children and young people aged between 5-19.

This will be a full-time position based on a 3 on 3 off rota with hours of work from 07:15 to 22:00. This position is also a temporary to permanent role therefore after 12 weeks working via Empowering Learning a full contract of employment will be offered directly from the SEN Provision offering an annual salary between £31,677.10 - £32,562.99 (dependant on qualifications and experience)

As a Support Worker you will provide help and guidance to the young people within the residential areas, school and out in the community. This can mean, teaching life skills, organising and attending day trips and health care appointments, delivering personal care and administering medication.

You will be responsible for safeguarding the residents, and supporting them to achieve maximum levels of independence, have fun, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Essential Criteria

We are seeking trustworthy, resilient social care professionals who are understanding of the young peoples needs and can create a fun and engaging environment for them to grow and thrive.

Previous experience of learning disabilities and/or challenging behaviour is desirable, as well as a relevant Level 3 Diploma, although full training for the right candidate will be provided, who can demonstrate a sound value base and a deep desire to be a positive influence in the young people's lives.
