Role Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Contract

Location: London (Wembley) with travel to Milton Keynes

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Engineer/Administrator to provide 2nd/3rd Line Support for two UK-based sites in a mixed Windows/Linux environment.

You'll take full ownership of technical issues, troubleshooting everything from applications to networking, and be responsible for resolving incidents end-to-end without escalation to other teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong virtualisation and networking skills, with experience across a variety of systems.

Responsibilities:

  • 2nd/3rd Line Support: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues for both Windows and Linux systems.
  • System Administration: Administer applications and servers, handling installation, upgrades, and configurations.
  • Virtualisation: Manage VMware environments and troubleshoot SQL performance issues.
  • Networking: Diagnose and resolve issues related to DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and firewalls.
  • Provide support remotely and on-site as needed.

Requirements:

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
  • Experience with VMware virtualisation.
  • Solid background in Windows and basic knowledge of Linux/Unix.
  • Experience with SQL Server troubleshooting.
  • Advanced understanding of networking and infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of ITIL methodology (certifications are a plus).

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Linux/Unix administration (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu).
  • Knowledge of air-gapped networks, PCI CPP standards, and automation tools like Ansible.
  • Familiarity with deployment tools such as MDT and WDS.
