Estates Project Manager

This Fire and Rescue Service in Nottinghamshire has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and experienced Estates Project Manager to join their busy Estates team.

Estates Project Manager Arnold, Nottingham, NG5 8PP

  • 29.6 hours (4 days) per week
  • Fixed- term contract of 18 months
  • Grade 8: £48,474 - £52,530 (pro rata)

The successful candidate will hold a key role within the Estates Department, leading the delivery of capital major works projects and also contributing to the delivery and management of minor and lifecycle works as required.

You will be expected to deliver high-quality outcomes and will have the ability to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders including technical and property management professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Capital Works Programme: Deliver efficient, value-for-money projects aligned with NFRS strategic aims
  • Project Management: Oversee all project stages from concept to handover, ensuring professionalism and organisation
  • Business Cases & Governance: Prepare business cases, update governance, manage risks, and implement actions
  • Budget Management: Deliver projects on time and budget, managing delegated budgets effectively
  • Expert Advice: Ensure compliance with legal standards and provide professional advice for quality, reliability, safety, and efficiency
  • Procurement: Work with the Procurement Team on scoping, technical specifications, and tender documents
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Plan and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for efficient project delivery
  • Work Assurance: Ensure defect-free handover and effective completion of remedial works
  • Review & Payments: Authorise payments and invoices, review projects for trends, and capture lessons learned
  • Support Minor Works: Contribute to the management and delivery of minor and lifecycle works projects

Experience / Qualifications

Our client seeks a candidate with strong qualifications and experience in building surveying, construction, or capital project management, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.

  • Qualification and experience in building surveying, construction, and/or capital project management
  • Expertise in risk management, H&S & CDM, and compliance with applicable legislation
  • Ability to manage consultants and contractors effectively
  • Experience in budget management and financial reporting
  • Dynamic and adaptable, capable of working in a high-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
