Forklift Driver / Warehouse Operative

We're working with a respected client in the manufacturing sector who is looking to expand their warehouse team with a reliable and detail-focused Warehouse Operative.

The Role:
As a Warehouse Operative, you'll play a key role in maintaining the smooth operation of the warehouse and packing areas. From cleanliness and stock control to documentation and quality checks, you'll be involved in a wide range of tasks that support the company's high standards in safety, quality, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse Maintenance & Cleanliness

  • Support the upkeep of a clean and organised warehouse and packing area.
  • Ensure fire exits are clear and pallets are stored appropriately.
  • Assist with forklift maintenance and charging.
  • Organise recyclable materials for collection.

Documentation & Administration

  • Match delivery notes with goods received.
  • Complete forklift checklists and warehouse cleaning logs.
  • Accurately complete Goods Received Notes (GRNs) and pass them to Quality Control.

Packing & Production Support

  • Work with the Packing Team Leader to align picking lists with production schedules.
  • Keep the airlock area clean and clutter-free.

Quality & Compliance

  • Complete cleaning tasks to GMP standards and record them appropriately.
  • Report damaged or non-conforming goods to Quality Control.
  • Ensure stock is clearly labelled, securely stored, and appropriately packed.
  • Identify and quarantine expired stock, updating QA/QC accordingly.

General Duties

  • Maintain a clean and professional work area.
  • Uphold high standards of personal appearance and conduct.
  • Follow all company policies, including Health & Safety, PPE, and absence reporting.
  • Report any safety concerns or damage to company property promptly.
  • Support the company's compliance with ISO 22000 and food safety regulations.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • A valid, in-date forklift licence is essential.
  • Experience operating both counterbalance and reach trucks is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to cleanliness and safety.
  • Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Comfortable working in a regulated, GMP-compliant setting.
  • A team player with a strong sense of responsibility and professionalism.
