Job Overview: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Production Shift Supervisor to join a successful and well established manufacturing business in Medway. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of their production processes during assigned shifts. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to drive quality and continuous improvement initiatives.

This organisation provides a tight knit team working environment and a people focused ethos. We are seeking a supervisor that can promote team work and bring staff across different areas together to meet production targets and foster a positive working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate all production activities during assigned shifts, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of production workers to achieve production targets and maintain high morale.
  • Monitor production processes and equipment to ensure optimal performance, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety within the team.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Quality Control, Maintenance, and Supply Chain, to optimise production efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate production records and reports, analysing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Implement and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Appropriate qualification or time served in related field.
  • Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse workforce.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Solid understanding of production processes, equipment, and quality control principles.
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
