Reed Norwich Procurement and Supply Chain are looking for a Buyer & Inventory Controller on behalf of our client to manage and organise procurement, inventory control, logistics, and company insurances to support our business activities. The ideal candidate will promote and perform best practices in accordance with the company's procedures and policies.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Negotiate and organise contracts and purchase order commercial terms with suppliers.
  • Review and renew annual contracts, including pricing reviews and renegotiations as necessary.
  • Source new vendors and maintain excellent relationships, as well as the company's supplier list.
  • Enter purchase orders on Sage 200 and perform related daily administrative tasks.
  • Maintain accurate inventory control and perform inventory checks in the warehouse and on vessels.
  • Develop forecasts with internal departments to satisfy client work commitments and place purchase orders accordingly.
  • Manage the company's transport demands, including liaising with shipping companies and freight forwarders.
  • Issue commercial invoices and manifests for local shipments, imports, and exports.
  • Ensure shipments are packed in accordance with regulations and client requirements.
  • Manage company insurances, including renewals and claims.
  • Carry out supplier audits and assist in the annual audit with external auditors.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven success in purchasing and supply.
  • Inventory control experience.
  • Good understanding and experience of logistics, transport, import, and export.
  • Basic understanding of insurance.
  • Knowledge and experience in Sage 200 Procurement and Inventory Systems.
  • Understanding of marine hydraulic fracturing and the oil and gas industry, with some chemical and engineering knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Packages, including Word and Excel.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • CIPS qualification would be desirable, although not essential.
