Technical Accounting Manager

Ambition working with a Top 10 accountancy firm in Hertfordshire who are currently seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to head up a newly accounts hub created and in a pivotal role. The Firm:

A top 10 accountancy and business advisory firm who have gone from strength to strength in recent years with offices nationwide, with this role based in East Hertfordshire. The firm already can boast a healthy portfolio for this role including a significant amount of international and complex businesses.

The Role:

Owing to consistent growth, the newly created Technical Accounting Manager role will be responsible for providing leadership to the team, managing a portfolio of clients, and supporting Directors and Partners. The role will cover a range of industries and service offerings which will cover but not be limited to:

  • IFRS Statutory Accounts: Prepare and review complex UK GAAP and IFRS accounts for clients - Accounting for financial assets and liabilities
  • IFRS Conversions: FRS102 to IFRS - stay ahead of new standards and guide clients through the transition.
  • Staying on top of changes in standards, relating to IFRS 9, 15 and 16 in particular
  • Valuations: Handle share-based payments and intangible assets.
  • Advisory and Valuation Work: Get involved in diverse projects within the Technical Accounting Team.
  • Staff management and development: Help develop and guide junior team members.
  • Audit support on Complex Areas
  • Advisory work with client on UK GAAP, IFRS and SEC regulations
  • Preparation of Technical Accounting papers

The Candidate

The successful candidate must be either ACA or ACCA qualified with several years post qualified experience, and a breadth of knowledge on complex accounting areas. It is essential that applicants can demonstrate successful managing staff and running a team/department both remotely. Successful candidates could be coming from an Audit background and looking to make a move into Accounting, provided there is a history of Accounts preparation, consolidated accounting and IFRS work. Applicants should also demonstrate:

  • An analytical approach with strong attention to detail
  • Very strong communication skills when delivering messages to staff and clients
  • Forward thinking, demonstrating confidence to move forward with an idea
  • Demonstrate good problem solving skills
  • An enthusiastic, smart-working individual with a "can do" attitude
  • Able to commute to East Hertfordshire
