Position; Shift Supervisor
Location; Peterborough
Salary; £13 - 15 per hour
About the role;
Planet Recruitment are proud to be working with a fast-growing organisation based in the Peterborough area who are looking for a Shift Supervisor. The successful candidate will have experience in leading a team, training members of staff whilst ensuring all operational duties are met to standards.
Responsibilities;
- Ensure that all team members work in a safe and efficient manner
- Ensure that their team have the appropriate training and understanding to assure the right first-time delivery of the required projects in a professional and cost-efficient manner.
- Overall responsibility for the correct set up of projects ensuring the required Test Plan / WES and authorisation document are clearly documented and agreed.
- Overall responsibility for the control of resource in the shift to ensure maximum utilisation thereby reducing standby/inefficiency [e.g., sign in/out discipline maintained, continuous line working as required, agency manning controlled].
- Responsible for the setup of Customer projects ensuring the contract agreements are clearly documented and formally agreed between us and the Customer [Ensuring that any Customer request for Specialist Support, Auto Mechanical / Electrical / Retrofit / Repair work is raised with the Rework Manager, Specialist Projects Manager / Technical Team to ensure scope of activities are fully captured and delivered to, thereby meeting Customer requirements in full, on time, right first time as a Managed Service.
- Monitor ongoing activities during their shifts to ensure that any potential concerns are identified and immediately resolved to the mutual satisfaction of all parties.
- Support the Plant Co-ordinator or Plant Manager in the recruitment, induction, appraisal and development of the Supervisors and Inspection teams.
- Support the Plant Co-ordinator or Plant Manager in achievement of Plant KPIs.
- Work with Quality Department to resolve immediately any issues found in layered audits.
- Ensure the accurate and timely creation of the required OEM and reports to support the above activities (including but not limited to Project paperwork, Shift reports, skills/training updates, utilisation planners and accident reports).
- Any other duties for which the Shift Supervisor holds the appropriate skills.
Essential experience;
- Previous supervision experience
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Ability to work rotational shifts
- Ability to use own initative
