Locum Planning Lawyer – East Midlands Local Authority
- Hourly Rate: Up to £60 per hour Umbrella
- Working Pattern: Full-time (Part-time applicants considered, minimum 3 days per week)
- Start Date: As soon as possible (up to 4 weeks' notice accepted)
- Contract Length: Ongoing, initial period of 3 months
- Location: Remote working with once monthly committee attendance
An East Midlands Local Authority is seeking an experienced Locum Planning Lawyer to join their legal team. This is an excellent opportunity to provide specialist planning law advice on a remote basis, with flexible working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handling a diverse caseload, including Section 106 agreements, planning applications, and appeals
- Providing general planning law advice to internal departments and stakeholders
- Attending monthly planning committee meetings
- Assisting with legal queries and complex planning issues in collaboration with the planning team
About You:
- A qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with strong experience in planning law
- Expertise in Section 106 agreements, planning applications, and appeals
- Proven ability to provide practical legal advice within a public sector framework
- Available to work full-time or part-time (minimum 3 days per week)
- Capable of attending monthly committee meetings
