Interim Property Maintenance Surveyor

RM Recruit Ltd is working in partnership with our Housing Association client who are seeking an experienced Property Maintenance Surveyor for a period of at least 6 months with an immediate start.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support in the maintenance and repair of our properties, ensuring that they meet the required standards and are fit for purpose. This role is required to be on-site 5 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review all disrepair claims ensuring every case is up to date, liaising with solicitors and centrally recording all actions
  • Overseeing all remedial works ensuring works completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Investigate complaints, identify faults and arrange remedial works and keeping residents fully informed.
  • Ensure Damp and Mould tracker is up to date and review all previous cases to ensure actions have been completed and conduct return visits for full assurance.
  • Support existing surveyor with day-to-day duties pre and post inspection surveys.
  • Work closely with housing colleagues and keep residents updated with all progress
  • Responsible for ensuring we deliver a high quality, efficient and safe repairs and maintenance service to the properties.
  • Effective management of the empty homes/voids service in respect of returning properties fit to let for new tenancy
  • Possess a good working knowledge of property maintenance and health and safety working practices
  • Conducting regular inspections of our properties to identify any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Undertaking stock condition surveys to capture and record all aspects of installations and condition.
  • Supporting the Head of Contracts, as part of a team of Property Maintenance Surveyors, with the delivery of annual programmes of capital and cyclical maintenance.
  • Preparing schedules of work and specifications for repairs, maintenance, and improvement works.
  • Ensuring that all works are carried out to a high standard and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance and repair works carried out on our properties.
  • Providing technical advice and support to colleagues and residents on all aspects of property maintenance and repair.
  • Keeping up-to-date with developments in property maintenance and repair, including relevant legislation and regulations.

As the ideal candidate, you will possess experience in general building surveying, and working knowledge of the Construction Design and Management Regulations and Health and Safety Regulations relating to maintenance and construction works. Furthermore, you will be a confident communicator who possesses I.T. skills, the ability to diagnose complex repairs and prepare specifications, design drawings and schedules of work for building related maintenance and refurbishment. You will be available immediatley to start and will possess experience in property maintenance and repair, preferably within a social housing environment however, candidates from outside of the sector will be considered.
