We're looking for a Maintenance Plumbing/ Mechanical Engineer to join our Estates team based at our London Bridge Hospital. This role is vital in ensuring a first-class building maintenance service within the hospital and satellite sites, covering reactive, project and scheduled maintenance work

The salary is in the region of £36,000 – £39,000 PA depending on experience + Private Healthcare, Benefits and 25 days Annual leave.

It's a 40-hour week 08:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday

On Call Shift -1 week in 4

10:30 – 19:30 Monday – Friday (On Call 19:30-08:00am)

08:00-16:00 Saturday (Overtime @ 1.5 guaranteed)

On call standby rate is £190 pw, call out is 4hours minimum at 1.5/2 time.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Shift Engineer. This role is vital in providing a high standard of workmanship maintaining the existing structure and fabric of the building on a daily basis

Duties include but are not limited to:

To work to a planned preventative maintenance system in accordance with a programme of work as directed by the Estates Manager / Chief Engineers

To provide an emergency call out service outside normal working hours as part of the estates department shift rota

To be responsible for all tools, equipment and uniform provided by the company.

To undertake other duties as may be directed by the Estates Manager / Chief Engineers

Successful candidates will need:

Training in relevant discipline e.g., City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 Plumbing/ Mechanical or equivalent

Experience working in 1st and 2nd fix plumbing and general plumbing maintenance

A good understanding of mechanical systems

Plumbing Qualifications (C&G or Equivalent to level 2 or level 3)

Previous experience of working in the building maintenance industry ideally within a hospital

Breakdown of salary and earning potential.

Basic Salary up to £39k

Call out which equates to £2736. Plus, the week you are on call they generally want you to work that Saturday which would be 8.30 – 5pm (you will get 8 hours at time and half but most of the time you don't work the whole day. and you get time and half. So, your hourly rate for the Saturday when you are on call would be £28.12 x 8 = £225 so that would be 12 in a year so you would get an additional £2700.

So, your annual salary with the above even if you don't get call out would be £44,436.
