1-year fixed-term contract (maternity cover)

32.5 hours per week, term time only Grade 3 (£25,119 - £31,364)

(Actual salary £19640 - £24524)

We are looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic and committed learning support practitioner keen to develop their career at Broadway Academy. This role would suit a graduate wanting to make an impact and who has the adaptability to provide support to the educational, social and emotional development of pupils at KS3 and KS4.

The Department
The SEND and Inclusion department are a forward-thinking team who are focused on providing a holistic educational experience for all students. We work closely with families and external agencies ensuring that all students, particularly those with additional needs, are involved in all aspects of Academy life. This is achieved through the demonstration of the Academy values through person centred practices and ensuring provision meets the needs of students. We are focused on training and accepting of new initiatives and research to advance the support and expertise that we provide for our students.

The post holder
You will have the experience and skills to:

  • understand attachment theory and behaviour management theories
  • develop and implement creative, innovative strategies to ensure our students achieve their full potential whilst at Broadway
  • establish positive relationships with students and carry out systemic observations of students' knowledge, understanding and skills
  • provide focused support for post-16 students
