You will work closely with application developers and support teams to ensure stable, well monitored applications that are resilient to faults with a full automated delivery pipeline.

You will have knowledge of and experience in relevant tools used in the SRE environment and be a specialist in one or more technical domains to ensure that all associated stakeholders are provided with an optimum level of service in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) / Operating Level Agreements (OLAs). You will have the opportunity to learn and gain accreditation in Google Cloud Platform

Your key responsibilities

  • Deploy applications to the integration, test and production environments
  • Work closely with application teams to build monitoring solutions to alert in the event of failures/performance issues and to optimise uptime
  • Provide feedback loops to continually improve application resilience across multiple application teams
  • Identify and eliminate or automate toil for the application teams to optimise effectiveness
  • Ensure compliance with Bank's SDLC control policies
  • Manage resolution of outages with both technical and business teams to the point where actions are taken to reduce the likelihood of the failure happening in future

Your skills and experience

  • A Degree ideally with a focus on Computer Science or IT-related discipline or equivalent experience in IT in large corporate environments, specifically in the area of controlled production environments or in Financial Services Technology in a client-facing function
  • Demonstrable DevOps / Site Reliability Engineering experience with excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience in build and CI/CD tooling: Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, TeamCity, UrbanCode deploy
  • Working experience of physical and virtual/cloud platforms: Unix and
  • Relational database skills, preferably Oracle and Scripting skills (Groovy, Bash shell etc)
  • Container orchestration tools such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, etc and experience in Prometheus/Grafana monitoring and log management e.g. Splunk
