Credit Controller

£24,000 - £27,500 per annum
Our client, a leading South West based business, is currently seeking a skilled Credit Controller to join their continuously growing team on a full-time, permanent basis.
As the Credit Controller, you will support the company's credit control function by ensuring timely invoice payments, maintaining accurate records, preparing financial reports, and collaborating with customers and departments to resolve payment issues, optimise cash flow, and minimise financial risk.
The responsibilities:
- Set up and maintain detailed customer account records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Check bank transactions, allocating payments in the CRM system and advising departments as necessary.
- Perform thorough bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Continuously monitor and chase customer payments to maintain timely collections.
- Report any overdue debts promptly to ensure they are addressed quickly.
- Liaise with customers and departments to anticipate due payments and provide copy invoices, statements, and other necessary documents.
- Communicate effectively with departments regarding customer queries to ensure swift resolution.
- Prepare cheque payment slips and deposit them in the bank as required.
- Allocate cash customer payments accurately in the ledger.
- Provide support to the Sales Ledger team whenever needed.
The candidate:
- Proven experience within a similar Credit Control role.
- Excellent telephone manner and strong interpersonal, communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to meet targets and manage a busy workload.
- Proficient in financial systems and software, including Sage Line 50, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
