Senior Occupational Therapist

Service Care Solutions are recruiting for an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to support our established client in the Surrey area. The service provides specialist therapeutic and rehabilitation pathways for those affected by a neurological or mental health condition for which challenging behaviour may be the leading impairment.

28-bed rapid response acute inpatient service for men in crisis, providing emergency admissions when community care is unsafe. This purpose-built unit aims to stabilise patients during acute mental health episodes in the least restrictive environment.

Job Purpose: Senior Occupational Therapist

Salary: £35,360 - £40,588 per annum + £250 SCS Sign-Up Bonus

Location: Crawley

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00

Contract: Full-time | 37.5 Hours

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Assessment and Intervention:

  • Conduct high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions.

  • Apply highly specialist expertise and occupational therapy skills in areas such as occupational engagement, environmental adaptation, and skill development.

  • Caseload Management:

  • Manage a designated caseload using theoretical and practical experience.

  • Complete assessments, plan, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes aligned to care plans.

  • Leadership and Supervision:

  • Provide compassionate and effective leadership to junior staff, including support staff and assistants.

  • Supervise and support the completion of appraisals and personal development plans for junior staff.

  • Communication and Collaboration:

  • Communicate effectively with a range of clinicians, managers, directors, people who access services, carers/supporters/family members, stakeholders, and agencies.

  • Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and consultation to the wider multidisciplinary team.

  • Policy Development and Implementation:

  • Develop and implement appropriate policies, protocols, and care pathways.

  • Ensure the delivery of occupational therapy student placements.

  • Professional Development:

  • Engage in ongoing career development and training opportunities.

  • Demonstrate extensive experience in applying occupational frames of reference and approaches.

Essential

  • An Occupational Therapy professional qualification.
  • UK HCPC registration.
  • Extensive and relevant post-qualification clinical experience within an adult service.
  • Specialist knowledge of relevant assessment and treatment models.
