Receptionist

I am working with a law firm based near the Barbican and they are looking a front of house receptionist to join their existing team. The hours are 8am-4pm and 10am to 6pm alternate weeks. The salary is £28,000 and they offer very good benefits.

The firm represent individuals who have been seriously injured. Through litigation, they help their clients secure the compensation they need to live their best lives, however altered their circumstances.

The Role

You will assist with:

  • Meeting and greeting all visitors and staff in the office, while providing a welcoming environment;
  • Managing meeting room bookings, updating internal guest lists and arranging refreshments;
  • Ensuring the tidiness and general upkeep of the client-facing areas and providing hospitality for in-house events;
  • Managing security passes and access to the building;
  • Dealing with clients and fee-earners face to face and on the telephone;
  • Answer all incoming telephone calls via the switchboard in a timely manner, displaying empathy and excellent customer service to all callers;
  • Providing cover for the Support team as and when required, undertaking other relevant administrative and housekeeping tasks.

You will ideally:

  • Have a minimum of one year experience in a busy front of house role;
  • Be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with vulnerable clients and professionals visiting the office while providing a high standard of customer care;
  • Be able to demonstrate a flexible attitude, strong organisational skills, attention to detail, an ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, keep on top of a busy workload and meet deadlines;
  • Be confident, approachable, articulate, proactive, friendly, work well within a team, and have a problem solving mind-set;
  • Have first aid and fire marshal training, although this is not essential as training will be provided.

Working hours will be flexible between the core hours of 8am and 6pm (on a rota basis), with occasional cover for out of hours events and any emergencies that may arise.
