Based in St Albans, Hertfordshire our specialist client is looking for a Group Management Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis, with 1 day working from home per week.
This job would suit an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant with existing experience of leading accurate and timely production of Management Accounts to be responsible for supporting the business to produce accurate and timely management information at all levels.
The company a multi-site retail organisation established in 1921 with 750 employees has grown rapidly over the last 2 years through several strategic acquisitions and plan to expand further in the next 2-3 years, they are a people focused organisation with personal development and well-being at the centre of their growth.
The successful individual will have good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite especially Excel (lookups, sumif, pivot tables), with excellent attention to detail. They will be able to build relationships and work well with all levels of personnel including Directors and Managers. The ideal candidate will have overview knowledge of VAT and Corporation Tax. Knowledge of the Kerridge (Babbage) finance system used by the Group would be an advantage and be beneficial but is not essential.
Job responsibilities:
- Lead accurate and timely production of Management Accounts, for all the eleven minor Group Companies producing reporting packs with commentary.
- Support the reporting of monthly consolidated management accounts to the Group's lenders.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement of the Management Accounts process.
- Preparation of schedules to support External Audit process.
- Preparation of data used in the Annual Budget process.
- Lead preparation of the Payroll Reconciliation.
- Attend stocktakes and review and report on Stock Taking and Stock Variances.
- Working closely with Regional Directors, Branch Managers and other support colleagues to deliver a best-in-class finance function.
- Provide training on Sales Analysis and Management Accounts to colleagues operating in our Branch Network.
- Onboarding the management accounts for any newly acquired businesses.
- Reviewing the Chart of Accounts Maintenance in ERP system.
- Support production of information in the ERP system and associated softwares.
