Overview:
Lead a multidisciplinary team to proactively maintain and improve housing conditions, reduce disrepair, and enhance customer satisfaction. Oversee planned maintenance, investment programmes, and end-to-end management of disrepair claims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support operatives, surveyors, and admin staff to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Deliver cyclical maintenance and Healthy Homes programmes (e.g., ventilation, damp-proofing, insulation).
- Oversee disrepair claims, ensuring compliance, timely resolution, and defensible outcomes.
- Use asset data and disrepair trends to inform investment decisions and reduce future risks.
- Develop training for staff on damp, mould, and maintenance best practices.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve processes, materials, and customer outcomes.
- Report performance metrics and risks to senior leadership.
- Contribute to policy development and represent the organisation in external forums.
- Promote equality, inclusion, and continuous improvement in team management.

Critical knowledge, skills and experience required (must have):
- Educated to HNC level in a construction related discipline;
- Knowledge of the Housing Disrepair Protocol, Building Regulations, HHSRS, Decent Homes Standard and the Homes Regulatory Standards.
- Strong IT literacy and experience of harnessing advances in technology to change ways of working.
- Strong communication skills: able to produce a variety of quality material to explain or support your
- position and then confident with presenting to and influencing, different audiences.
- Ability to work under pressure and have a forward thinking and positive approach to problem solving
- with proven experience of effective decision making;
- Sound knowledge of building maintenance and construction with the ability to provide technical and
- non-technical advice;
- Proven experience of contracting and negotiating with clients and contracts together with a commercial
- and economical awareness;
- A wider knowledge of housing law and housing strategy;
