Our client is a Residential design, build and fitout company specialising in sustainable construction and Passivhaus building methods. On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing the financial aspects of projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. You will be responsible for cost estimation, contract management, and financial reporting, all while upholding our client's commitment to sustainability and quality.

Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for construction projects, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Monitor project costs and provide regular financial reports to stakeholders, highlighting any potential risks or cost overruns.
  • Manage and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring all terms are met and disputes are resolved efficiently.
  • Work closely with the design and construction teams to identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising on quality or sustainability.
  • Provide financial and contractual advice during the tendering and construction phases, supporting the successful delivery of projects.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate potential financial risks associated with construction projects.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant legal, safety, and environmental regulations.

Quantity Surveyor

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry, ideally with a focus on sustainable residential projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost estimation, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, such as CostX, Bluebeam, or similar.
  • A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • A strong commitment to sustainability and high-quality construction.
