In this Head of Finance role, you will:

  • Work closely with the Director of Finance to oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of the finance department.
  • Create and manage monthly management accounts, including accruals and prepayments, to provide accurate and timely financial insights.
  • Supervise a diverse finance team, including experienced members and staff studying for exams, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Play a significant role in the year-end financial process, working with minimal oversight from the Director of Finance and ensuring compliance with all necessary regulations.
  • Assist in implementing the new finance system, aiming to automate processes and enhance budgeting systems, with a go-live target of September.

The successful Head of Finance will:

  • Be fully qualified with CIMA, ACCA, or CIPFA credentials, or qualified by experience with 10-15 years of experience in a similar role within the education sector.
  • Have a proven background in the education sector, serving as a subject matter specialist.
  • Have extensive experience managing the month-end process, using various software, and leading year-end activities.
  • Demonstrate line management responsibilities, with a track record of effective team leadership. However, candidates looking to step into a team-leadership position are encouraged to apply.
  • Be proficient with spreadsheets, and possessing a personable, team-oriented attitude in a friendly office environment.
