Engine Testing Lab - Automation Engineer - Peterborough - Up to £26/hr - Inside IR35 - (Could increase for exceptional candidates)
Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping one of the world's leading manufacturers of off-highway machinery and diesel and natural gas engines find a Engine Testing Lab - Automation Engineer and the hybrid role comes with a contract rate of £26.00 per hour.
The Test Data Systems team are directly responsible for Test Automation and Data Acquisition Systems used in power system development.
- You will be responsible for developing, testing and deploying new features and functions within out test automation platforms
- You will triage, troubleshoot and address to breakdowns and issues that arise
- You will work closely within a global team comprised of Product Owners, Software Architects, System Integration Engineers, Automation Developers and Testers
- You will have the opportunity to work with a range of industry leading Automation and Data Acquisition tools including products from leading automotive suppliers such as FEV (Morphee), AVL (Lynx, Puma) and Vector (CANape)
To apply for this Automation Engineer role, your soft skills, expertise and experience could include:
- Passion for automation and commitment to learn/grow capability within the field of automation development
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work-related experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including ability to troubleshoot system interaction issues, identify root causes and develop appropriate solutions
- Strong technical understanding of Electrical, Electronic or Automation systems
- Some experience with scripting and/or coding in one or more language (Python, C, C++, C#, PowerShell, Batch-script, Bash etc.) and an appetite to further develop scripting and coding ability within the role (with training, Coaching and support!)
- Experience working with Engines/Transmissions/Vehicle Electrification Components and Technologies
- Experience with data analysis tools such as NI-DIAdem or AVL Concerto
