Management Accountant

DK Recruitment are thrilled to be partnering with a local, Paignton based client in their search for a new addition to their finance team. The Management Accountant will play a critical role in the preparation and reporting of management accounts. The role includes supporting audit requests, reconciling and supervising transactional activities in collaboration with the group setup.This position serves as the main local contact for finance-related queries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head of Finance with the preparation of monthly management accounts and group reporting.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and manage the Deferred VAT account, including any queries with HMRC.
  • Conduct monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations, ensuring thorough review of GRNI, down payments, and key accounts for specific suppliers, as well as payroll/pension accounts.
  • Provide support on all audit requests, including collating and retrieving necessary information.
  • Conduct weekly cash flow forecasting.
  • Maintain open communication and flexibility within the finance team and across departments.

Skills & Qualifications

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA/AAT qualified or part-qualified, or 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • The ability to analyse and solve problems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and Sum ifs (capability test upon interview).
  • Experience working with ERP finance packages
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
