SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

We are seeking for an experienced and dedicated Deputy Manager for our clients Ofsted registered Children's Home. The Deputy Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing exceptional care for the children and young people under their supervision.

Day-to-day duties will include:

  • Collaborate closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the Children's Home.
  • Act as the Registered Manager in their absence and assist in the overall management of the home.
  • Assist in maintaining full compliance with all Ofsted regulations and standards.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individual care plans and risk assessments for each child.
  • Build positive relationships with children, their families, and relevant stakeholders, offering support and guidance.
  • Supervise and support staff members, providing leadership, guidance and feedback as needed, to ensure that they provide the best possible care and support to the children.
  • Assist in recruitment, training, and performance management processes.
  • Participate in monitoring and evaluating the quality of care provided, recommending improvements.
  • Help implement quality assurance systems and practices to maintain high standards.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Support incident management and resolution, ensuring the safety of the children.
  • Collaborate with the Registered Manager in managing the budget efficiently and responsibly.
  • Contribute to financial reporting and expenditure control in line with organisational guidelines.

Essentials:

  • Must be over 21 years of age due to Ofsted regulations.
  • ILM Leadership and Management – Level 4 minimum
  • A minimum of two years' previous experience in a supervisory or deputy role within an Ofsted regulated Children's Home setting.
  • Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care for Children and Young People or equivalent.
  • Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with and a thorough understanding of relevant legislation and regulations governing Children's Homes.
  • Understanding and knowledge of Therapeutic Approach to Childcare
  • An enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) is required.
  • Full, clean, driving license.
