Group Head of Compliance

Join a diverse group of companies located in London as a Group Head of Compliance. The group's activities range from elite high-level security consultancy to FCA-regulated financial services companies. They are a fast-paced innovator, and now is an exciting time to join them as they scale.

They offer hybrid working, 3 days per week in the office.

THE ROLE:

Reporting directly to the managing director will be responsible for all aspects of compliance. This includes:

  • Develop, review, and update compliance policies and procedures to align with regulatory changes and industry best practices.
  • Oversee and manage the company's anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) programs.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements set forth by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and other authorities.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Implement and enhance systems and controls for monitoring transactions and reporting suspicious activities.
  • Oversee Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures.
  • Provide compliance training to staff.
  • Prepare and submit regular compliance reports to senior management and regulatory authorities.
  • Manage relationships with regulatory authorities and ensure accurate and timely regulatory reporting.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Stay informed about industry developments and regulatory changes.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 8+ years experience in compliance within the financial services industry, with a focus on payment institutions preferred. - Required in order to be qualified.
  • Registration with FCA as MLRO.
  • In-depth knowledge of AML and CTF regulations applicable to payment service providers in the UK.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles.
  • Experience in managing compliance staff and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Professional certifications such as ACAMS or ICA are highly desirable.
