Neighborhood Officer

We are currently recruiting for two positions on behalf of our client, a social landlord with a modern approach who are dedicated to the development of their clients and staff. Both roles will be based out of the organisations North Yorkshire.

Neighbourhood Officer

  •  Responding to customer enquiries relating to their tenancy such as relationship breakdown, request to exchange property with another tenant and succession queries
  •  Respond promptly to reports of ASB within the agreed service standards and take the lead for dealing with ASB issues on the patch
  •  Undertake routine estate inspections across the patch with Local Monitors where applicable at an agreed frequency
  •  Accurately record all estate inspections and complete any relevant follow-up works on an on-going basis
  •  Ensure properties are let promptly and efficiently when they become void through effective communications with the Choice Based Lettings team (CBL) and colleagues in the Property Services
  •  To be able to identify the need for additional support including financial support and to provide advice and guidance
  •  Work closely with colleagues within the Income Team to ensure that customers understand their responsibility to pay their rent

2x Community Safety Officer

  •  Take responsibility for the coordination, control and organisation of an effective and efficient response to ASB in line with policies and procedures
  •  Investigate and manage serious ASB harassment, and domestic abuse cases liaising with Police, local authorities and any other relevant agency in order to gather information which will assist in agreeing and implementing a course of action resulting in the cessation of the nuisance/ behaviour
  •  Develop and implement a prevention approach which minimises the number and severity of ASB cases
  •  Effectively develop partnership working with other agencies, to develop an approach to effectively tackle and resolve ongoing issues caused by ASB
  •  Take the appropriate action to tackle ASB breaches of the tenancy agreement and other criminal activity
  •  Investigate serious cases of ASB and harassment, this will involve interviewing customers, undertaking investigations, liaising with in-house and external legal advisors
  •  Lead in the preparation of cases for legal action, including preparing witness statements, appearing and representing court
