Your Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:

  • Collaborate with children individually or in small groups to enhance their learning.
  • Serve as a positive role model for both students and colleagues.
  • Foster positive relationships with children and their families.
  • Collaborate with fellow staff members, including specialists.
  • Assist the class teacher in resource preparation and activity setup.

Responsibilities:

  • Help prepare a lesson and tidy the classroom afterwards
  • Provide assistance with lesson plans
  • Support children across the curriculum
  • Give extra support to children with special needs
  • Help mark work
  • Report student progress
  • Help look after the children during school trips and activities
  • Look after children that are unwell
  • Attend meetings
  • Confidence in guiding individuals or small groups.
  • A positive attitude and effective communication skills.

Essential requirements:

  • Experience working with young people
  • Class management skills
  • Comfortable managing challenging behaviour
  • Able to engage with and motivate children
  • TA Qualified
