Our client is a top provider of legal and claims solutions, serves insurers, businesses, and other stakeholders in the insurance sector. Its expertise extends to managing over £1 billion in insurer claims annually, resolving more than 100,000 claims through collaboration with leading insurers, MGAs, brokers, corporates, and the public sector.With over 50 years of experience, the firm possesses a deep understanding of the insurance claims process. This knowledge allows it to effectively manage litigation rates, streamline claims lifecycles, and reduce overall claims costs.
Your new role
The team handles claims against many different types of professionals, including engineers, architects, surveyors, solicitors, accountants, brokers, IFAs and veterinary surgeons, as well as defending the professionals before their professional bodies. The workload is therefore broad and varied.
You will be responsible for running your own caseload with cases up to the value of half a million. These will be Professional Indemnity claims against a range of professions with the potential to specialise in construction or solicitors.
There will also be the opportunity to work closely with the partners in the team on high value and multi-party claims, cases that are multi-million pounds in value and/or are claims of significant importance legally or to our clients.
What you'll need to succeed
- Defendant professional indemnity experience (ideal)
- Have previously handled own cases of £200 - £500 million in value (ideal)
- Commercial litigation experience
- Previous litigation experience
- A knowledge and understanding of the types of disputes handled by the department and claims handled by the department's insurer clients
- An ability to communicate in writing and prepare succinct and concise reports
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Ability to work with case management systems
- The personal skills to deal with such work as major and expensive litigation involving liaison with senior claims handlers
