We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Key Stage 1/2 Teacher committed to promoting student development and providing exceptional student support. Our school specialises in catering to the unique needs of children with various learning disabilities, ensuring they receive a personalised and high-quality education.

Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Primary Teacher to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with young children, particularly those with special educational needs, and will be committed to helping every child reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum for Key Stage 1, tailored to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Student Development: Foster a positive learning environment that encourages personal, social, and academic growth.
  • Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Develop and implement IEPs for students, in collaboration with parents, carers, and other professionals.
  • Assessment and Reporting: Regularly assess student progress and maintain accurate records. Provide feedback to parents and carers through written reports and meetings.
  • Classroom Management: Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning. Manage classroom behavior in accordance with school policies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with support staff, including teaching assistants and therapists, to provide holistic support for each child.
  • Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices in special education and Key Stage 1 teaching.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism or significant experience in Key Stage 1.
  • Experience: Previous experience working in a special school or with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Attributes: Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs.
