Finance Manager - Property & Operations - 12 mth FTC. OUR CLIENT is a UK-based, established, and growing property Developer and Manager. Their ethos is to establish and develop supportive communities where people thrive and lead fulfilled lives. They have instructed us to help them hire a Finance Manager for a fixed term 12 mth contract to provide a first class, highly efficient and customer-focused financial reporting service to the Business and Customers for the current and future developments.

THE ROLE REQUIREMENTS for the Finance Manager will include**:**

Team:

  • Supporting and managing the key priorities of the team to ensure expedient delivery of key reporting requirements in the short term whilst driving process change and efficiency in the medium term.
  • Grow and develop a Management Accounts finance team.

Acting as an agent of change, re-educating on the new finance processes and systems put in place to support future growth within the business.

Accounts:

  • Ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of monthly / quarterly management accounts together with insightful variance analysis for a number of companies.
  • Being a key contact for the teams for advice on policy and Customer queries.
  • Ensuring relevant Accruals / Prepayments are captured in the appropriate period, leveraging capabilities of new systems to drive improvements.
  • Reviewing and approving Balance Sheet and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Assisting Operations Team in the production of annual budgets and liaising with auditors regarding preparation of year end accounts.
  • Providing department heads with management information as requested.
  • Updating business plans and forecasts for property companies, as required.
  • Continually reviewing existing policies and processes, suggesting improvements and helping drive significant change.
  • Standardising and communicating process and policy.
  • Ensuring all Service Charges are compliant and within the best practise guidelines issued by the relevant associations and regulators.

Systems, control and process innovation:

  • Leading in the continuous improvement of financial processes, systems and internal controls.
  • Leading on the implementation and embedding of the Service Charge phase of the new ERP system.
  • Standardising reporting and processes and helping drive change and efficiencies in process to enable change from quarterly reporting to monthly reporting.
  • Helping establish best practice control and reporting to month end timelines.

THE PERSON and SKILL REQUIREMENTS for the Finance Manager :

  • Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA accountant with excellent academics.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience at senior finance level within the real estate sector.
  • Up-to-date knowledge on current service charge accounting legislation and best practice for residential and commercial properties.
  • Good knowledge of Excel and IT software packages such as online banking, direct debit systems, accompanied with knowledge of MRI PMX or equivalent best practice property management accounting software.
  • Excellent communication skills, Customer-focused attitude, with an ability to present information clearly and succinctly.
  • Personable, positive, dynamic leader who works flexibly and collaboratively to achieve deadlines, with a 'roll up sleeves' to get the job done attitude.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Ability to build effective partnerships with finance and non-finance colleagues, operating with presence and confidence.
