Denholm is delighted to be working with one of Scotland's most exciting and inspirational strategic brand and communications agencies, who are looking for their first full-time Marketing Manager to join a rapidly growing team.

Right now, thanks to a growing and diverse portfolio of global clients - many of which are operate in a regulated environment - this innovative agency is in need of a skilled B2B Marketing Manager to take them and their marketing/brand activities to the next level.

Reporting into the Strategy Director, you'll have a proven track record of working with senior marketing clients, have solid understanding of B2B audiences and what engages them, and have previous experience in brand/content strategy, journalism and/or marketing planning. Above all, you'll share the agency's values of precision, curiosity and agility to build strong and enduring consultative relationships with clients and colleagues alike.

What you'll be doing

This is a varied role and one you can make your own, with some of your main responsibilities being to:

  • Build an in-depth understanding of client challenges and interrogate briefs to ensure the right problem is solved and best approach taken to meet the client's objectives.
  • Develop insight-led strategies across a wide range of projects, including brand development, content marketing, advertising campaigns, customer experience.
  • Be responsible for briefing/leading the generation of big ideas and compelling, insight-driven content campaigns.
  • Translate campaign and content strategies (propositions, campaign frameworks, customer journeys and roadmaps) into quality outputs.
  • Effectively brief and work closely with our creative studio
  • Build strong and enduring consultative relationships with client marketing teams and contribute to client development activities.
  • Monitor, analyse and interpret the external environment (market intelligence, competitor activity, etc).
  • Identify, utilise and contribute to the development of planning tools, models and online analytics.
  • Lead primary research - quantitative and qualitative, where required.
  • Lead client and stakeholder workshops, both in person and online, to inform and validate strategic approaches.
  • Work with the wider team to ensure content strategies, solutions and service delivery achieves the highest levels of client satisfaction at all times.
  • Lead in editorial planning tasks, such as theme and topic setting, infographic narratives, brand narratives and proposition development, video scripting, etc.
  • Be responsible as a key contributor to the delivery of the 'Client Development Plan' for named client accounts, liaising with all internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct professional and time-efficient interviews with contributors.

Who we're looking for

  • Minimum 5 years' direct experience, preferably with a strong track record in agencies or a highly-relevant industry.
  • Excellent understanding of all strategic marketing channels, both on and offline.
  • Sophisticated appreciation for marketing principles, models, methodologies, techniques and effectiveness.
  • Ability to brief, produce - and productively critique - creative output, with a good eye for what makes strong content and creative.
  • Excellent desk research and polished presentation skills.
  • High standards of written and spoken English.
  • Experience in all aspects of content generation - writing, subbing, video scripting.
  • Computer skills: word processing, spreadsheets. Ideally, an ability to generate convincing presentation decks.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at same time and work to tight deadlines.
