About the client:
My client is a global, highly reputable company who specialise in distributing bespoke Automation Solutions. They work on a diverse range of projects and are considered market leaders in their field.

The Senior Software Engineer role:

  • The ability to design Software and systems to specification, cost and time targets.
  • You will be responsible for working alongside the Electrical and Mechanical teams to integrate all disciplines into the design.
  • Collaborating with the Production Engineers to ensure products are designed for manufacturing.
  • A track record of carrying out unit tests at all phases of the Development cycle.
  • You will be accountable for contributing to design standard compliance including CE / UK CA approvals.
  • Provide progress of all projects to The Engineering and Project Management teams.
  • Ability to problem solve in both legacy and new special purpose machines.

Senior Software Engineer - Essential Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in C#, .Net, VB.Net and SQL.
  • Proven track record in writing software drivers for hardware devices.
  • Minimum of 6+ years' experience in Software Development.
  • Deep understanding of communication protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC UA, RS232).
  • Previous exposure with debugging machines (electrical, mechanical and software).
  • Experienced with GIT.
  • The ability to write clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
