Description:
- Oversee the occupational therapy department, ensuring the delivery of exceptional care and developing innovative therapeutic strategies.
- Responsible for the delivery of occupational therapy services across the designated service area.
- Provide specialist advice to occupational therapy staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Manage complex requests for occupational therapy, triaging and prioritising these, completing evidence-based assessments and interventions.
- Use client-centred approaches to co-produce negotiated occupational goals and evaluate these with service users collaboratively.
- Participate in and provide clinical/professional and management supervision.
- Contribute to multi-disciplinary team working.
- Lead on service improvement and quality initiatives.
- Utilize the Trust electronic patient record system.
- Abide by all Trust policies and procedures.
- Respond flexibly and creatively to challenges.
Skills:
- Substantial clinical experience in the service area.
- Experience of leading clinical governance activities including clinical audit.
- Extensive experience in clinical supervision of staff.
- Demonstrated effective clinical leadership.
- Ability to articulate the role of the Occupational Therapy Service to a wide and diverse range of people.
