Electronics Lecturer

The post-holder will join a team of lecturers and trainer/assessors who deliver apprenticeship programmes based on site.

The purpose of the role is predominantly carrying out training and assessment of wiring and testing electrical equipment and circuits, maintaining electrical equipment/systems, assembling and testing electronic circuits, maintaining electronic equipment/systems, wiring and testing programmable controller based systems (PLC) and other workshop disciplines as required.

PLC delivery across BTEC/Foundation Degree programmes and WorldSkills. The post-holder will manage a caseload of learners per annum to meet agreed targets within set deadlines. Monitoring and recording progress of learners and work with employers to ensure learner achievements in line with contractual requirements.

Kowledge and experince in electronics with PLC's is essential to be considered for this role.

Person specification and Experience:

  • A1 or D32/33 or TAQA qualification, or agree to work towards and complete a TAQA award.
  • V1 or D34 or IAQ.
  • Relevant Occupational Qualification to Level 3.
  • Literacy and Numeracy L2 qualifications or above or be willing to work towards.
  • Knowledge of current educational development within Further Education sector and own subject sector
  • Experience of training and assessing - especially related to Apprenticeships (both new and old) and adult learners that includes understanding how to set and mark student work.
  • Experience of working towards deadlines and achieving excellent personal success rates
  • Knowledge and experience of working within the Engineering area•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work proactively without regular supervision.•Ability to contribute to a team approach and work flexibly
  • An awareness of the value of equality; diversity and inclusion and be able to demonstrate a commitment to working in a non-discriminatory manner
