Lead CE Technician / Team Leader
We have a great opportunity for someone wishing to further develop in a team leadership role at our Winnington Bicarb Plant, where we manufacture Sodium Bicarbonate for a range of applications and customers.
Working as part of a small team the Lead CE Technician/ Team Leader is a hands on maintenance role, with line manager responsibility.
This is a 24 hour operational site and whilst support is provided to the site by a Shift Technician, there may be a requirement for out of hours working from time to time.
What will I be doing?
You will be responsible for a team of 2 CE dual skilled technicians. As a team of 3, you will provide an engineering service including maintenance, repairs, overhauls and preventative measures for the Winnington Sodium Bicarbonate plant, with occasional support to the CCU plant.
Ensuring site and team compliance to statutory and company standards in relation to SHEQ standards within a food grade manufacturing environment.
Carrying out daily maintenance routines, maintenance activities and responding to plant and equipment breakdowns in a timely manner.
Fault diagnosis, identifying root causes and implementing preventative and corrective improvement actions.
Planning and leading the activities of the CE team, balancing the varying operational priorities of each respective unit.
Specify and procure engineering spares and materials ensuring effective and minimum cost maintenance in line with internal procurement procedures.
Managing contractors and small projects as required with support from the wider engineering team.
Communicating with the wider site operational teams and area owners.
Line manager responsibilities include, reporting and managing sickness and other time off, performance management, team communications and resolving conflict.
Our ideal candidate?
Will be time served, dual skilled to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in both Control and Electrical skills. (HNC or equivalent would be of advantage).
A willingness to lead and manage a team, leading by example and setting and driving the highest of standards.
Have the ability to read and understand the information contained in engineering drawings and specifications.
Will have detailed knowledge of safe systems of work and experience of legal and statutory requirements (previous of food grade manufacturing would be an advantage).
Local plant knowledge would be beneficial, though ability to quickly gain this knowledge would be essential.
