We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of DT Food Technology to join our dynamic team in Leeds. This is a full-time position starting in September.

The School nurture the students by preparing them for life; picking them up when they fall and allowing them to be the best they can be. Ofsted complimented their ability to keep students safe and well. This school is Ofsted rated 'Good'. Ofsted also report that their pupils want to come to school as they enjoy it.

**Requirements:

  • **Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) is essential.
  • Experience: Previous experience teaching Food Technology at the secondary level is highly desirable.
  • DBS Check: An enhanced DBS on the update service is required, or a willingness to apply for one.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
  • Passion: A genuine passion for food technology and a commitment to inspiring students.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • **Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging and innovative lessons in Food Technology for secondary students, ensuring alignment with the national curriculum.
  • Student Development: Inspire and support students to achieve their full potential, fostering a love for cooking and an understanding of nutrition and food science.
  • Assessment and Progress: Regularly assess student work, provide constructive feedback, and monitor progress to ensure high standards of learning and achievement.
  • Classroom Management: Create a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and maintains discipline.
  • Extra-Curricular Activities: Lead or support extra-curricular activities related to Food Technology, such as cooking clubs or competitions.
  • Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with educational best practices and advancements in food technology education.
