Maintenance Engineer

Paula Rosa Manhattan is an established, trustworthy brand manufacturing in Sussex. We manufacture, supply, and install fitted kitchen furniture for national house builders, high-rise developers, and social/affordable housing providers, as well as direct to the public.

Purpose of the Maintenance Engineer role:

To ensure the availability of operational assets through the successful delivery of a Total Productive Maintenance schedule and effective response to unplanned maintenance issues so that production downtime is kept to a minimum and health and safety standards are met.

Key Accountabilities:

  • To schedule and deliver against a planned preventative maintenance schedule to minimise chance of machine breakdown.
  • To repair or resolve machine issues in a timely manner to keep loss of production to a minimum.
  • To communicate machine issues that cannot be resolved to machine supplier as soon as all in house options have been exhausted to ensure prompt responses from required service departments.
  • To manage consignment stock and order necessary parts required for repair and maintenance of machines to ensure repairs are completed is the quickest time possible
  • To keep accurate ledger of all machine breakdowns for data analysis by management and to close works orders in a timely manner.
  • To assist in factory improvement and project work to ensure services and facilities are installed correctly.
  • To carry out necessary Facility work.
  • To chaperone and ensure contractors are site inducted and have approved RAMS.

Requirements for the role:

  • Served a recognised apprenticeship and attained an appropriate electrical/mechanical qualification. (City and Guilds, NVQ level 3 mechanical engineering.)
  • Able to demonstrate success in maintaining and repairing Electrical and/or Mechanical equipment and systems related to buildings operations.
  • Flexible communication skills
  • Ability to make decisions.
  • PC Literate (Microsoft Office packages)
  • Ability to interpret drawings, manuals and technical literature to fault-find.
  • Ability and willingness to respond flexibly to working hours in time critical situations.
  • Previous experience with Homag machinery & IPAF training would be a distinct advantage but by no means essential.
