Pastoral Welfare Leader

Hours: 37 hours per week (term time only)

Salary: £26,519 - £28,955 annual (ACTUAL SALARY)

Location: Barnsley

Are you dedicated to improving student welfare, behaviour, and attendance? Do you have a passion for building strong relationships with families and working collaboratively with professionals to support students?

We are working in Partnership with a Specialist academy who are looking to recruit a committed Pastoral Welfare Leader to join our team and make a meaningful impact in their school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of each child's needs in school, the community, and the family home.
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate personalized interventions and enrichment programs to enhance welfare, behaviour, and attendance.
  • Refer students to relevant agencies and work collaboratively with all stakeholders.
  • Apply specialist SEN and behaviour strategies to support self-regulation and de-escalation in line with school policies.
  • Serve as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring the safety and welfare of all pupils.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management, training, and supervision of staff including ISWs and Teaching Assistants.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in a school or similar setting.
  • Experience with children and young people with additional or special educational needs.
  • Comply with safeguarding responsibilities and undergo TeamTeach training.
  • Promote inclusion and create a safe, stimulating environment for all pupils.
  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent qualifications.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one.
