About Us: My client is a dynamic and innovative construction and design company known for delivering high-quality projects. We are seeking a dedicated Accounts Assistant to join our finance team and support our growing operations.

Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to manage financial transactions and support our accounting processes. The ideal candidate will be skilled in handling a high volume of invoices and knowledgeable in VAT and UTR numbers.

Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing: Run through 100+ invoices daily, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process supplier invoices, prepare payments, issue customer invoices, and track incoming payments.
  • Financial Record-Keeping: Enter financial transactions, reconcile bank statements, and maintain the general ledger.
  • Expense Management: Process employee expense reports and manage petty cash.
  • VAT Compliance: Handle VAT calculations and submissions.
  • UTR Numbers: Use UTR numbers for subcontractor payments and ensure compliance.
  • Payroll Support: Assist in payroll processing and maintain payroll records.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial reports and maintaining documentation.
  • Audit Support: Assist in preparing documentation for internal and external audits.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably in the construction and design industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
